"Sun Bridge", San Francisco

None of my photos of the tourists came out very well, so here's a bridge instead.

I am still struggling with "auto focus". The focus on this camera/lens is very fast and accurate - but the problem is controlling what to focus on. Notice the feathers are super sharp, but I wanted the eye to be the sharpest. There are all sorts of electronic focusing adjustments to make that I am still learning about, plus they interact with other adjustments which makes it difficult. This also demonstrates the problem with such a narrow depth of field on a long lens - the picture would be better if the whole thing were super sharp. I should have stopped the lens down more and used a slower speed, but many of the birds were moving a lot and I was trying to catch action during the session.
